In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Now the earth was formless and empty. Darkness was on the surface of the deep. God’s Spirit was hovering over the surface of the waters.

God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

God saw the light, and saw that it was good. God divided the light from the darkness.

God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." There was evening and there was morning, one day.

God said, "Let there be an expanse in the middle of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters."

God made the expanse, and divided the waters which were under the expanse from the waters which were above the expanse; and it was so.

God called the expanse "sky." There was evening and there was morning, a second day.

God said, "Let the waters under the sky be gathered together to one place, and let the dry land appear"; and it was so.

God called the dry land "earth," and the gathering together of the waters he called "seas." God saw that it was good.

God said, "Let the earth yield grass, herbs yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit after their kind, with its seed in it, on the earth"; and it was so.

The earth yielded grass, herbs yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit, with its seed in it, after their kind; and God saw that it was good.

God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of sky to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years;

and let them be for lights in the expanse of sky to give light on the earth"; and it was so.

God made the two great lights: the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night. He also made the stars.

God set them in the expanse of sky to give light to the earth,

and to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness. God saw that it was good.

God said, "Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth in the open expanse of sky."

God created the large sea creatures, and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarmed, after their kind, and every winged bird after its kind. God saw that it was good.

God blessed them, saying, "Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth."

God said, "Let the earth produce living creatures after their kind, livestock, creeping things, and animals of the earth after their kind"; and it was so.

God made the animals of the earth after their kind, and the livestock after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind. God saw that it was good.

To every animal of the earth, and to every bird of the sky, and to everything that creeps on the earth, in which there is life, I have given every green herb for food"; and it was so.

God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. There was evening and there was morning, a sixth day.

On the seventh day God finished his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made.

God blessed the seventh day, and made it holy, because he rested in it from all his work which he had created and made.

Yahweh came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men built.

Come, let’s go down, and there confuse their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech."

"Yet I have set my King on my holy hill of Zion."

I cry to Yahweh with my voice,
and he answers me out of his holy hill.

Arise, Yahweh!
Save me, my God!
For you have struck all of my enemies on the cheek bone.
You have broken the teeth of the wicked.

Many say, "Who will show us any good?"
Yahweh, let the light of your face shine on us.

^a Yahweh, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth, who has set your glory above the heavens!

When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have ordained;

You make him ruler over the works of your hands. You have put all things under his feet:

Yahweh, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Yahweh looked down from heaven on the children of men,
to see if there were any who understood,
who sought after God.

The Lord will laugh at him, for he sees that his day is coming.

You have loved righteousness, and hated wickedness. Therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of gladness above your fellows.

But as for me, I am like a green olive tree in God’s house. I trust in God’s loving kindness forever and ever.

I will give you thanks forever,
because you have done it.
I will hope in your name, for it is good,
in the presence of your saints.

Yahweh will create over the whole habitation of Mount Zion, and over her assemblies, a cloud and smoke by day, and the shining of a flaming fire by night; for over all the glory will be a canopy.

“ It will happen in that day that the glory of Jacob will be made thin, and the fatness of his flesh will become lean.

In that day, people will look to their Maker, and their eyes will have respect for the Holy One of Israel.

It will happen that he who flees from the noise of the fear will fall into the pit; and he who comes up out of the midst of the pit will be taken in the snare; for the windows on high are opened, and the foundations of the earth tremble.

Yahweh, you are my God. I will exalt you! I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, things planned long ago, in complete faithfulness and truth.

In this mountain, Yahweh of Armies will make all peoples a feast of fat things, a feast of choice wines, of fat things full of marrow, of well refined choice wines.

For in this mountain the hand of Yahweh will rest.

Moab will be trodden down in his place, even like straw is trodden down in the water of the dunghill.

‘Behold, the days are coming when all that is in your house, and that which your fathers have stored up until this day, will be carried to Babylon. Nothing will be left,’ says Yahweh.

I clothe the heavens with blackness, and I make sackcloth their covering."

For your Maker is your husband; Yahweh of Armies is his name: and the Holy One of Israel is your Redeemer; the God of the whole earth shall he be called.

“For this is like the waters of Noah to me; for as I have sworn that the waters of Noah shall no more go over the earth, so have I sworn that I will not be angry with you, nor rebuke you.

“You afflicted, tossed with storms, and not comforted, behold, I will set your stones in beautiful colors, and lay your foundations with sapphires.

I will make your pinnacles of rubies, and your gates of sparkling jewels, and all your walls of precious stones.

“Behold, I have created the smith who blows the fire of coals, and brings forth a weapon for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.

You shall no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall your land any more be termed Desolate: but you shall be called Hephzibah, and your land Beulah; for Yahweh delights in you, and your land shall be married.

The hand of Yahweh was on me, and he brought me out in the Spirit of Yahweh, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones.

He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?”
I answered, “Lord Yahweh, you know.“

Thus says the Lord Yahweh to these bones: “Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live.”

I will lay sinews on you, and will bring up flesh on you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live; and you shall know that I am Yahweh.

He answered and spoke to those who stood before him, saying, “Take the filthy garments off of him.” To him he said, “Behold, I have caused your iniquity to pass from you, and I will clothe you with rich clothing.”

‘See, the stone I have set in front of Joshua! There are seven facets on that one stone, and I will engrave an inscription on it,’ says the LORD Almighty, ‘and I will remove the sin of this land in a single day.’

When you hear of wars and disturbances, don’t be terrified, for these things must happen first, but the end won’t come immediately."

The same was in the beginning with God.

All things were made through him. Without him was not anything made that has been made.

They will put you out of the synagogues. Yes, the time comes that whoever kills you will think that he offers service to God.

When Peter had come to himself, he said, "Now I truly know that the Lord has sent out his angel and delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from everything the Jewish people were expecting."

Be patient therefore, brothers, until the coming of the Lord. Behold, the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient over it, until it receives the early and late rain.

You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.

I heard a loud voice out of the temple, saying to the seven angels, "Go and pour out the seven bowls of the wrath of God on the earth!"
